Anxiety Reappraisal

How to shift your own anxiety from fear to excitement!

That heart-pumping, tingly feeling...

When you are totally terrified and also excited and optimistic.

That's what I've got right now. 

I've learned that people can intentionally shift their nervous fears & fearful energy into a more positive emotional experience called excitement. This technique is called "Anxiety Reappraisal". Have you ever been able to do this? You are nervous about giving a presentation, but you tell yourself that you're excited about it? You psych yourself up for it so that your experience of the scary thing is positive instead of negative & debilitating? 

I've always done this, naturally. Without realizing it's a thing. I have an ability* to take the heart-pumping fear and channel it into the positive energy that I need to present, teach, speak up or try something new! 

Both of these experiences in the body feel very similar. It's that bursting energy, the increase heart rate, the cortisol that spikes your adrenaline. The difference is what you focus on. Do you focus on what could go wrong, or what could go right? Some studies have shown that it's easier to jump into action from this aroused state, AND, that it's easier to shift negative fear into positive excitement and action in the brain. So interesting! 

So why am I experiencing this right now? 

I'm about to try something new!

I've been approved for a challenging program in my company designed to push us & help us grow and also reward us. But it's going to be a very busy season and one that forces me out of my comfort zone. 

It'll be a time that I am heavily relying on Paul to hold down the fort at home and relying on my team for their support. But I'll also need the support of my customers and oil community! And, everytime that I've needed this in the past, people always show up. Things always work out. Miracles seem to roll right in. I'm open and excited to see where I am led to help people find relief, health, sleep, natural options & improved mental wellness. 

The nervousness doesn't ever fully go away...but maybe I can use it to channel some action!
