My business story

The year was 2014 and I had just had my 3rd baby boy. Life was good. Great in fact. From the outside looking in, most people would say that we have a pretty perfect life. And, in many ways, we did (and still do). My gratitude journal overflows with gifts from the Creator. And, often, my husband and I both express our shock and utter appreciation for just how great things are. It was in 2014 that my world opened up to see just how big it could be. This opportunity to build a business from home came as a surprise and a blessing in my life. I didn't jump in head first…or even with both feet. Instead, I found myself taking baby steps towards the direction that God was pointing. But how could this be? How could God be calling me to something else? I was a Youth Pastor. I'm supposed to be in Ministry. Doesn't that mean that I'm supposed to do that for the rest of my life? It came over me so slowly, yet was absolutely so clear that I was being drawn towards something else. And, the cool thing was that it wasn't a crossroads, or a point in my life where I needed to make any major decisions. I slowly started building a business while doing the youth ministry thing at the same time. I figured I was just earning a little extra income to help support my new little "hobby".

The opportunity presented itself to me when I was breastfeeding my 3rd son when he was around 6 months of age. I am not one of those moms who have to worry about breast pads or leaking or pumping and storing gallons of milk. I have to be very careful to keep my milk supply up (check out my freebie to learn tips if you struggle with your milk supply too!). One of the solutions that I found was in essential oils. I had no idea that oils could be used for anything other than an aroma and some mood enhancing. I was pretty amazed to find out that I could apply something pure, natural and simple to my body and experience the feeling of full breasts and serious mama relief! Wowza! I had never had that much milk before. I felt empowered. I felt like I had options - and it didn't involve me feeling helpless and asking my doctor for a prescription, I could fix this! It caused me to wonder what other things I could use these amazing little oils for. And that led me to wonder how many other people I could share them with. We can all list off so many close friends and family who can benefit from a natural solution that actually works. It just seemed so natural to start sharing it with others. So I simply added another role to my already full life. Wife. Mama. Youth Pastor. Knitting guru. Praise Team Leader. Essential Oil Sharing Diva. I thought my life was full. Complete. I had all that I ever wanted or needed.

Yet, little did I know, that God had a major miracle in store for me. Just when we thought that we were done with the whole baby stage, God blessed us with another pregnancy! We already had 3 beautiful boys. I loved the size of my family and the fact that I had 3 sons. But sometimes, it's hard to see around the bend - that there's actually something better waiting for your around the next corner. It came with both gratitude & overwhelm. We had such thankfulness to God for giving us another child…but how was I going to do everything? FOUR kids just seemed like so much more than three. Could I really keep working two jobs with another little baby in the house? Through much prayer and practical thought, I decided to leave my youth ministry gig. It was not as scary of a decision as I thought it would be. I had such peace about it, knowing that God has always and will always provide for us. And, the month that I decided to leave my job was the first month that I had hit Gold rank in my company. It was exactly the amount of money that I was making per month working for the Church. It was a beautiful sign that it was okay to let go of a job that I had loved - and was good at. It was a bitter sweet decision as I miss seeing the students at youth weekly and building relationships with them…so we decided to continue to attend that Church and stay connected to the program with my husband volunteering. I decreased my hours for the following four months at Church so I could finish my ministry term really well. I wanted to give my family, my business and my job all equal opportunity and I didn't want to just coast out the rest of the year. I worked until the very end of my pregnancy, even playing guitar at our Christmas Eve candlelight service with a 9 month pregnant belly. And then our little miracle was born. Our fourth son. His arrival welcomed in an entire new chapter of my life. I have more time freedom to be at home with him. I don't need daycare. I am building a business that brings in this amazing thing called residual income.

I took 3 whole months off of teaching essential oil classes after he was born. And guess what? I still got paid.

Through this amazing opportunity and through God's providence, everything was taken care of.

Today, I spend nap time and evenings building my essential oil business and training my team. My favourite part of this whole journey is being able to share what I've learned with other women. I love training new business builders to do what I do. I love showing you just how much freedom you can feel when you start having an abundance of money, flexible hours of work and a healthy body full of vitality because of the products that you are using everyday. I love showing the women on my team how to use their gifts in their business. And, to help you discover and build your personal brand. Because you know what? People will be drawn to you and what you're doing. You have something amazing to offer the world. This might help you discover just what that is.
