The flaws we point out in others are just insecurities we see in ourselves

Girl, you’re so beautiful.

Just the way you are right now. You don’t need a smaller waist, longer legs, longer lashes, bigger boobs or less cellulite...you just need to stop believing the lies that you do. You don’t need the latest trends to be valuable. You don’t need to weigh a certain amount to be loved. You don’t need to worry about how others feel about you when you know the truth.

You are enough.

You need to shake off the crazy standards the world has imprinted in your brain. Think of the things you say to yourself in the mirror...would you ever say those things out loud to another woman? Probably not! Maybe behind her back, though. Words like “I don’t want to see that” or “she shouldn’t be wearing that” or any array of negative things reveal the way you truly feel about beauty. That there’s an unattainable standard we must all chase and that we as women actually keep each other suppressed to these body issues. Your beliefs about what is “acceptable” are a part of the problem. Your negative self talk is a part of the problem. Your spending habits looking for the perfect products to make you skinnier or prettier or younger are a part of the problem. Because companies get rich preying on your insecurities. Weight loss and beauty industries want you to feel terrible about yourself. Because you’re a better customer. Because you’ll buy things to fix the problem.

But don’t you see? You can be happy with who you are! God created you in His image and he didn’t make a mistake. You are loved. You are beautiful. You are powerful. You are amazing! Because, with God, all things are possible.

Do you want to make improvements in your life? I promise you, it will be a lot easier to do from a place of self love instead of self loathing! It’s ok to want to get dressed up, to wear the lipstick, to enjoy fashion, to curl your hair. But, please, do it because you just want to be the best YOU! No one else can be the you that you were created to be .

Will you be the one to tear her down? Or will you be the one to fix he crown?
