How Essential Oils have Transformed My Every Day Life

How did I manage the daily struggles before??

I have come to realize that my lifestyle has changed so much over the past few years. This massive shift has resulted in me feeling so much more confident in how I tackle every day problems & stresses. I know that I have the tools I need to make it better.

This is a real look at how much these oils have improved the quality of my life every. single. day.

Just a few of thousands of examples...

1) Child gets a cold, cough & runny nose.
BEFORE: Stock up on Kleenex and hope for the best
NOW: Diffuse Breathe Essential Oil, give them a spoonful of Honey & lemon (kids over 2), OnGuard or stronger on their feet & spine. Symptoms slow and illness goes away fast.

2) Have a sore back, neck or head
BEFORE: Take Tylenol
NOW: Apply Deep Blue Essential Oil to relieve the tension, and if needed, book myself a chiro or RMT appointment to fix the actual problem.

3) Feel a bladder infection coming on
BEFORE: Drink more water & cranberry juice, wait until I'll need antibiotics. Again.
NOW: Apply lemongrass over my bladder, increase water intake, take cranberry supplements, use Oregano & TeaTree on the bottoms of my feet to eliminate bacteria. Antibiotics as an effective back up plan - not nearly as often as I used to.

4) Kids are experiencing emotional or behavioural challenges.
BEFORE: Get completely stressed out and start letting my emotions control how I respond to them. Pray it stops.
NOW: Apply calming essential oils to them and to me which gives us a moment together to talk about our emotions and to not join in their chaos, but to remain calm through it. Still pray, because that's always a good thing - but it's usually gratitude instead of desperation.

5) Not able to fall asleep at night.
BEFORE: Complain about it to my husband and keep him awake while tossing & turning.
NOW: Diffuse or rub Serenity, balance or cedarwood essential oil on my chest and drift off peacefully, waking feeling well rested and restored.

6) Someone needs first aid - burn or bee sting or otherwise
BEFORE: Dig through a medicine cabinet looking for something to help and tell them that a bandaid will work.
NOW: Apply lavender or correct-x a few times a day and watch their pain decrease and their issue heal faster than ever before.

These oils are so much more than a pretty smell. They are tools that you get to add to your toolkit to use daily as proactive health care. They are there for you when you need them, giving you a solution to a simple problem. Providing you and your family with relief from everyday problems. Supporting your healthy lifestyle in a natural way. Proactive healthcare is the wave of the future. It's the answer to our overflowing emergency facilities and staff (more people staying home with solutions, instead of going to emerge). It's the change that needs to happen to improve & extend quality of life in this country. It's the way that we take care of ourselves and our families.

Don't have these on your shelf yet?

It's time to take back your healthcare!

You will experience opposition, but don't change your position!

Not everyone is going to understand.

4 years ago I decided to build myself an at-home business in the hopes of creating a different future for my family. My biggest driving force is creating freedom in my schedule so that I can reduce stress and be a better mom and a better person on this earth.

By the time my fourth son was born, I had already replaced my income fully with my new health & wellness home based biz. This allowed me to step down from my day job. To me, it's been just one way that God has provided for our family. To others, they don't see it that way.

Some of the things that have been said about me:
- I care too much about money
- It was easy for me because I got in early
- I don't have to work hard
- I've changed
- I don't have good priorities
- I'm not being a good Christian (yep, actually said more than once).

It's interesting when you receive feedback from someone (or hear the gossip second hand). You feel the pain of hearing someone think something negative about you. But, you also feel the hurt that they are experiencing too.

let's be really clear here. When someone else is jealous of your or upset with your success, it's their problem, not yours. That's right. Unless you are behaving poorly and treating people badly, it's not usually about you. They are working something out in their life and they are projecting those feelings on to you. They are experiencing a sense of lack or overwhelm and they think your social media portrayed life must be way easier than theirs. It's natural for us to do this, but comparison never leads to fulfillment. It leads only to disappointment. We can ALWAYS find someone in the world who is excelling at something that we can't do. I know the pinterest worthy homes and moms always make me feel like a complete and total failure...if I let it.

Let's address some of these opinions.

Did I get in early?

Sure, I did. doTERRA hadn't even launched in Canada when I started. That sounds "early" to me. But, being "early" actually has ZERO prediction of someone's success. No one else is going to build my team/customers for me. Only I can do that. Existing in doTERRA doesn't mean I will automatically earn an income. I have to do the work. Some people started in doTERRA at the same time as I did and haven't grown their business like I have. It's reliant on the amount of work they put in, not their position within the company.

Do I have to work hard?

Sometimes. Sometimes it's LONG days and late nights and lots of rejection and uncomfortable feelings. Sometimes there are classes cancelled, or no shows, or even drama to sort out. And sometimes it feels easy and just right for me. Aren't other jobs like that? Good days and bad days? Busy season and slow season? It doesn't usually feel hard because I love it. Because I was intuitive enough to know that I couldn't work at a job that I hate. And, to really listen to what God is calling me to do means that I'm (almost) always at peace with His choices.

Have I changed?

You bet I have. I've grown in so many ways. I'm bolder in sharing my Faith. I'm stronger and more resilient. I'm more confident and fulfilled. I'm better with my spending habits. I'm more intentional about the relationships in my life and I'm actually doing something I haven't quit yet! But some things about me will never change. If you're my friend, you already know this about me. I will always love Jesus, turquoise & late night game nights.

What about money? Priorities? Living a Christian life?

These all fall under the same categories to me. My priorities have always been God, family, work then play. Some of my friends enjoy a spot closer to the family category. None of those priorities really involve money. I fully believe that God has given me enough and that is all I need. I love being generous to others, and earning a little extra and spending a little less has given me the opportunity save more and give more. I love that I can give, but I don't love money itself. I mean, we drive a 2003 dodge caravan. Clearly it's not about status for us! 😂 Having to work in an environment that isn't a Church community has forced me to get reallllly reliant on God. I have had to navigate new idea and new hardships in the "real world", but along the way it has strengthen what I believe and helped me to share more with others <3

Why do I share this?

I want you all to be prepped for what you will face when you learn how to be true to your calling. When you step into your potential. When you walk in a path that feels peaceful and beautiful. There will be lots of support and also lots of opposition. But you are resilient. You are going the right way. You have everything you need. You are in the perfect place to get there from here! You can totally do this!

Work from home ~ Create your Dream Life

What would you change about your life if you knew you could have your dream life in 5 years?

DSC_9066b.jpg

Have you ever taken a break from the daily routines and habits to wonder - what do I really want my life to look like?

What changes/improvements would you want to see in 1 year? 5 years? 10 years? It's so easy for us to get stuck in the rutt of doing the same thing day-in and day-out without stopping to realize the impact that we could have on the world. What things we could accomplish if we became intentional and committed to it. What if you were asked to do something for someone else? Does your current situation allow you to be free enough to give of your resources and time to others?

Or do you constantly think to yourself "only if..."

followed by phrases like....

"I had more time",
"I had no debt",
"I had more disposable income",
"I had someone to watch the kids" etc...

Taking action today can completely change your future. I believe that I'm co-creating a life of abundance that can be a blessing to many other people. I follow God's leading to learn who I am here to serve and take action on things that I know are going in the right direction. This is a 2 person process. You can't go it alone, as that's where we encounter burnout. So we trust in a plan greater than ourselves. But, trusting in the direction you're given doesn't mean you stand around waiting for someone else to do it for you. Taking action on your dreams is YOUR part of the process. And, those dreams are given to you for a reason, a purpose, a mission! You need to examine why you have been given those dreams and then work to make them a reality!

You were made for so much more than survival. You were made to truly FLOURISH.
